A park in Lewisham was transformed into a Winter Wonderland this weekend for an afternoon of festive fun.

Around 2,000 people gathered in Forster Memorial Park for the event on December 4 hosted by Phoenix Community Housing.

From ice skating, face painting, to refreshments and snowman-making workshops, there was something for everyone to get in the Christmas spirit.

Santa and a team of reindeers greeted families throughout the day.

Chief executive of Phoenix Community Housing, Jim Ripley, said: “Our Christmas event this year was fantastic.

“It’s great to see residents and members of the community celebrating together.

“It was not only an occasion to have fun, but also to influence our services and shape what we do.”

This year’s Christmas themed event is one of many events held by Phoenix.
