AS the new Covid variant has started to spread throughout England, people are asked to comply with Government rules.

News Shopper asked South East London residents if they think the new rules will stop Omicron from spreading.

There was a mix response with some already complying with the advice and some who are completely against it.

Here’s what the News Shopper readers had to say:

Tracy-anne Clubley said: “Restrictions should never have been eased.”

Sev Blooms said: “They are much needed.”

Angela Andrews said: “Never stopped wearing a mask in shops.

“I think they should have never stopped people wearing them!”

Lorraine McCowen said: “Always wear my mask. Never stopped.”

Gemma Smith said: “About time!!”

Sue Ashton said: “Never stopped wearing a mask and using hand gel and wipes.”

There was also some frustration from the News Shopper residents.

Helen Miller said: “Too little too late.”

Will Allen said: “Pointless, can’t stop it happening, only postpone it.

“Plus, why only make rules apply in shops? What’s the logic in that?.”

Jacqueline Heselden said: “Got to wear a mask in supermarket and public transport, when it doesn’t include pubs, clubs, etc, doesn’t make sense to me.”

A mix response from our readers, but the Government have reinstated the rules for everyone to follow as of yesterday (November 30).
