The driver of a BMW has allegedly been hit in the face by a smart car driver in a road rage incident in Epsom.

The brawl happened at around 3.15pm in Pound Lane towards Hook Road on November 20.

Following a verbal argument, the driver of the white BMW was reportedly hit in the face by the black smart car driver.

A 60-year-old man from Chessington was arrested on suspicion of assault and threats to kill.

A 57-year-old woman from Chessington was arrested on suspicion of assault and driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

Both have since been released under investigation.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or may have any dashcam footage, to get in touch quoting PR/45210122957.

A spokesperson for Surrey Police said: "We are appealing for witnesses after a road rage incident on Pound Lane in Epsom on Saturday, 20 November.

"Police were called to reports of a fight at around 3:15pm on Pound Lane in the direction of Hook Road.

"Following a verbal argument, the driver of a white BMW was reportedly hit in the face by the driver of a black Smart car.

"A 60-year-old man from Chessington was arrested on suspicion of assault and threats to kill.

"A 57-year-old woman from Chessington was also arrested on suspicion of assault and driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

"Both have since been released under investigation.
