Three people have been left seriously injured after a car and lorry crash on the M25.

Surrey Police were called to junction 10 in the clockwise direction at around 3.30am.

Three people were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

All four lanes were closed at the time - and lanes three and four opened at around 8.30am.

As of 9.30am, lanes one and two are still closed.

According to Highways England, a road sweeper has been requested to clear the remaining debris from the carriageway.

Motorists are being urged to drive with caution and not to used the closed loads.

The latest Highways England update in full said: "UPDATE Lanes 1 and 2 still remain closed at this time - a road sweeper has been requested to clear the remaining debris from the carriageway - Please drive with caution in the area and do not use closed lanes."

A spokesperson for Surrey Police said: "We were called to junction 10 on the M25 clockwise, this morning (12 October), at around 3.30am, following reports of a collision between a car and a lorry.

"Three people have been taken to hospital with serious injuries ​and all four lanes remain closed at this time."
