A gamekeeper was caught with rifle ammunition in the back of his car.
Thomas Rankin, 25, pointed the rounds out to police officers after they’d taken him back to his Littlemore home on March 10 last year, Oxford Magistrates’ Court heard.
The gamekeeper, of Long Close, Botley, pleaded guilty to three counts of possession of firearm ammunition without a licence when he appeared before the court on Tuesday afternoon.
He had three rounds of Remington .222 Federal ammunition, two rounds of Winchester 308 PMC and four rounds of 22-250 Norma. The rounds were all made to fit in a rifle.
Rankin denied possession off a 10 inch silver knife without reasonable excuse.
The magistrates bailed him ahead of a trial on November 22.
