Two men have been arrested in an investigation into a fatal stabbing in Kingston on Saturday (August 21).

Police said Saturday evening that an 18-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of murder, and a 19-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of murder and possession of an offensive weapon.

Both men remain in custody at a south London police station.

As the Surrey Comet reported, the stabbing happened in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Emergency services were called at around 3.45am to reports of a disturbance in Clarence Street.

Officers and paramedics attended and found a 22-year-old man who had been stabbed. He was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service where he was later pronounced dead.

Police said his next of kin have been informed and were being supported by specialist officers, while a post-mortem examination will take place "in due course".

Meanwhile, detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command are investigating. A crime scene remains in place in central Kingston and enquiries are ongoing.
