A brand new Lidl is set to open in Upper High Street in Epsom next month.

Occupying 1,424m² of sales area as well as feature facilities including an in-store bakery, customer toilets and parking, the Lidl will be donating surplus produce and customer donations to local charities.

The new store will open on August 14, and will create around 40 jobs for the local community.

The move is part of the giant's ongoing £1.3bn expansion and regeneration plans across the UK for 2021 and 2022.

As part of the development, the supermarket has also built 30 new apartments above the store to 'help meet the needs of the local community'.

Six of the properties are shared ownership apartments, and two homes have been designated for affordable rent.

Lidl GB’s Regional Head of Property, Henry Neel, commented: “We are incredibly excited to bring this new development to the community in Epsom.

"It is fantastic that we have been able to meet the needs of the local area not only delivering our fresh, quality and affordable produce, but also 30 new apartments and much-needed affordable housing.

"We look forward to welcoming everyone through our store doors shortly and serving our multi-award winning products.”

The store opening times will be between 8am - 10pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am – 4pm on Sunday, 'delivering Lidl’s offering of fresh, quality and great value produce'.

During the first week of opening customers will be able to find exclusive deals and offers on selected products including a Polycarb Suitcase Set grey (£39.99) and a Cast Aluminium Frying Pan on Thursday 12th August (£6.99), as well as Plunge Saw PTSS 1200 C1 on Saturday 14th August (£34.99).
