A motorist has pleaded not guilty to causing the death of a young mother who was knocked down while on a “rare night out”.
Rhiannon Hall, 21, from Surrey, was hit by a car in London Road in Cheam, south-west London, at around 10.15pm on October 16 last year.
She died from her injuries in hospital on October 20.
Alex Barnett, 28, was charged over her death and appeared at the Old Bailey on Tuesday for a plea and case management hearing.
He pleaded not guilty to causing the death of Ms Hall by careless driving.
Judge Rebecca Trowler QC set a further case management hearing for August 17 at the Old Bailey.
She indicated that a decision has yet to be made on whether to transfer the case to another court for a five-day trial.
Barnett, of Brocks Drive in Cheam, was granted continued unconditional bail.
According to a GoFundMe page set up in the wake of Ms Hall’s death, some friends of the mother-of-two witnessed the collision, which happened while she was on “a rare night out”.
