Police are appealing for information after a man was seriously injured in a crash near Headley Court yesterday evening (Tuesday, June 15).

Images sent to the Surrey Comet showed the aftermath of the crash, with a car visibly crumpled at the side of the road and paramedics attending.

A man was seriously injured, and he and another passenger were taken to hospital for treatment.

Two more occupants of the car meanwhile received minor injuries, police said.

John Freeze was in the area on his way home from Royal Ascot on Tuesday evening and narrowly missed the crash.

"One the way home from Royal Ascot...(a)...great day.

"There were a few winners but we really are the winners here...30 seconds to a minute more this car would have been on top of mine," he told the Surrey Comet.

John added that the car "hits the bank (and) the car rolls and flips (I can’t say if he was too fast)

"Look learn don’t let this be you. This could have killed me and my wife and friends in our car

"We both would have left behind children and both have a child with special needs."

Surrey Police are now investigating the crash and appealing for witnesses as they seek to piece together what happened.

"Close to the junction with The Drive, the vehicle crashed. Thankfully no-one was trapped. Two of the four occupants (two male, two female) received minor injuries, but a female passenger and the male driver were transported to hospital by ambulance," a spokesperson said.

"The driver will be kept in for further assessment after paramedics raised concerns about possible head injury. His family have been informed and are at the hospital with him.

"Officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity and may have seen or heard the blue Vauxhall Corsa, and the manner in which it was being driven, in the moments before the collision.

"They are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have captured the vehicle's driving on dashcam, helmetcam or CCTV."
