THOUSANDS of fans will return to the Amex tonight for the first time this year amid the easing of lockdown restrictions.

Almost 8,000 fans will pass through the gates this evening as Albion host Manchester City in the Premier League.

It is part of the latest easing of restrictions introduced by the government on Monday.

Under the new rules, up to 10,000 fans or 25 per cent of a stadium’s full capacity will be welcomed back to games.

In a statement ahead of the game, the club has asked supporters to download their ticket for tonight's game, to ensure quick entry.

A spokesman said: "We strongly advise this is done at the earliest opportunity so any issues encountered can be rectified in plenty of time ahead of the game.

"Supporters who fail to do this will be delayed in gaining access to the Amex on the night.

"If you are unsure how to do this, please click for guidance on how to download on an IOS device here, or here for Android.

"If you have completed this process, please watch the below video to ensure your entry to the ground is as seamless as possible."

Graham Potter has confirmed his team will offer this season’s champions a pre-game guard of honour at the Amex.

They provided a similar salute to Liverpool when they visited late last season with the title already secured.

Manchester City have won the title for the third time in four seasons.
