THESE pictures show dozens of police officers at the scene of a stabbing that has left a man fighting for his life.

Officers launched a manhunt in East Preston yesterday afternoon after they were called to a violent incident in Sea Road around 4pm.

The police helicopter and ground units searched the area, looking for two people they believed to be on foot.

Pictures are taken from the scene show dozens of police and ambulance crews in the area.

There, they found a man in his 20s who had sustained a "potentially life-threatening stab wound to the abdomen".

He was airlifted to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector Alan Pack said: “We are conducting a number of fast-time enquiries to identify the suspects in this matter.

"The victim is in a critical condition and we are determined to locate those responsible.

"We have stepped up patrols in the area while enquiries are ongoing."
