A body found in the River Thames last week has been confirmed as a man who has been missing since February this year.
John O'Reilly, 68, was first reported missing from the Kingston area on Wednesday, February 20.
Police confirmed his body was found near the Teddington lock area on March 9 and said his body was identified this week.
Kingston Police issued a statement on Twitter yesterday afternoon ( March 12), it said: "A body found in the Thames near Teddington lock area on Tuesday, 9 March has today been positively identified as John O’Reilly, 68 (11.09.1952) of Kingston.
"We are conducting ongoing enquires, however this is not being treated as suspicious.
"John’s family have been informed."
His family have since issued a statement on Twitter and said "he is now at peace" and thanked the public for their support.
