An organic skincare company that has been based on the Lizard Peninsula for 16 years has relocated to Helston – and is back right next door to its original neighbours.

After a busy 2020 for Inlight Beauty, which included donating more than 2,000 of its bespoke balms to front line workers and being asked to be official contributors to the Baby Sussex book marking the first birthday of Prince Harry and Meghan's son Archie, the company has now bid farewell to its headquarters at Roskilly's near St Keverne.

After 14 years here, following the first two years at Gear Farm near St Martin, Inlight Beauty, owned and run by the Spiezia family, has now opened the doors to its new Helston base on the Water-ma-Trout industrial estate.

It can now be found in the former building of the much-admired late shipwright and craftsman Richard Winfrey and his wife Brush, with the new home more than double in size to its previous headquarters. It now also includes a showroom, as well as a viewing platform into the production area.

It means locals and visitors will be able to access the unit more easily and see the range of products, from oils to body butters and hair serums – as well as watch them being made.

Even better, the building is right next to Frugi, which was based next to the Spiezia family when just starting out.

Dr Mariano Spiezia, who co-found the company with his wife Loredana, said: “We had been looking for some time to find the right place for our Inlight HQ – somewhere with a spirit that resonated with our own, yet big enough to help us expand whilst keeping our eco-footprint as small as possible.

"The unit we fell in love with is also next door to Frugi, the amazing organic baby clothing company whose first base was next door to our own back in 2008!”

The company is echoing its roots as a 100 per cent organic, plant-based and cruelty-free business by using 100 per cent green energy in the new building, while the gas will be offset.

“Most of our team live within walking distance of our new premises and – Cornish weather permitting – aim to walk or cycle to work too," added Dr Spiezia.

The company is currently offering 50 per cent off for NHS staff in Cornwall and Devon who sent a photo of their ID badge to emily@inlightbeauty.co.uk or message the social media pages.

Inlight Beauty was the first UK beauty brand to receive the Cosmos Organic Certification throughout its whole range and last year Dr Spiezia was shortlisted for the lifetime achievement award by Positive Luxury, which awards the Butterfly Mark.

He was also voted one of the top 25 “Who’s who in natural beauty” in 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2016.
