Coronavirus cases in Cornwall have risen further in the last week – although at a slower rate than previously.
Today's update on the Government's cluster map shows that there were a total of 2,069 new cases recorded in the seven days leading up to January 8.
Despite the rise though this was only 12.8 per cent more than last Wednesday's figures of 1,832 positive test results in the week leading up to January 1, whereas previously overall cases had been doubling and even trebling week-on-week.
However, a few areas have seen a particularly noticeable spike in figures, including in Helston, which has seen 76.5 per cent rise in cases to now sit at 60 positive test results in the week leading up to January 8, compared to 34 in the previous week.
Data from the most recent five days is not included due to being incomplete.

Truro now has 104 cases overall, compared to 157 last week, with Truro West at 30 (down from 38), Truro South & Central at 31 (down from 63) and Truro East at 43 (down from 56).
It is the same in Newquay, where there are 107 cases in its two clusters – down from the highs of 144 last week.
The map only shows clusters when there are at least three confirmed results, with anywhere with between zero and two cases shows white in order to "protect the privacy of individuals and prevent disclosure."
However, today there remains no part of Cornwall that is not showing at least three cases.
Overall Cornwall now has a rolling rate of 361.8 cases per 100,000

The map shows positive cases by 'Middle Super Output Area' - the name the government gives to the break-up of larger towns and groups of neighbouring towns and villages, with groupings covering a greater area than others.
The minimum population in each area is 5,000 and the average is 7,200.
