Families and patients at a local cancer centre have been asked to wait with enquiries and checkups due to technical difficulties.
The phone switchboard for the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, which runs Mount Vernon Cancer Centre in Northwood, has been down since early this morning (January 13).
As a result, patients at Mount Vernon, and other facilities including the Lister, Hertford County Hospital, and the New QEII Hospital in Welwyn Garden City will be unable to contact the NHS Trust for the time being.
Many cancer patients in the Watford area tend to be referred to the cancer centre in Northwood.
The NHS Trust has said: “We are working to fix this as soon as possible, and apologies for any inconvenience.”
