She may have been waiting for a hip replacement but that didn't stop a member of Penryn Royal British Legion from taking part in the organisation's national fundraising appeal.
The Royal British Legion had encouraged people to carry out a sponsored walk or run at a time when fundraising was difficult.
Despite being unable to do either at the moment, Allison Williams was undeterred and instead completed a sponsored swim at the Falmouth Hotel, just before Christmas.
Setting herself a target of 1,000 lengths of the pool she in fact managed 1,200 lengths – and raised £300 in the process.
Allison said: "I am very grateful to everybody who sponsored me, and supported me all the way through.
"All the staff at the Falmouth Hotel were excellent and all Covid procedures were followed.
"I would like to thank everyone for their generosity and help."
After her swim Allison was presented with a medal by the manager of the Falmouth Hotel Jonathan Gotthardt.
