Free home exercise classes are being offered by the company that runs the majority of Cornwall's sports centres.

GLL, which operates under the Better brand and runs Cornwall’s leisure centres on behalf of the council, has had to close its leisure centres during the third lockdown but is working in partnership with Public Health England to offer free videos and 600 online fitness classes instead.

Available both on a desktop computer and on the Better UK app, classes range from 15 to 60 minutes in length and include Zumba and HIIT to more relaxed meditation and yoga, targeting core stretch, agility, fat burning and mindfulness.

James Curry, GLL’s Cornwall partnership manager, said: “In these challenging times we are working hard to help our members stay fit and healthy while they are unable to access the gyms, pools and leisure facilities they would normally visit.

“As a charitable social enterprise, we care deeply about the health and wellbeing of our local community and are doing all we can to support them through our online offer.

“We look forward to welcoming our customers back again when we can and, in the meantime, thank them for their loyalty.”

You do not need to be a member to access the pre-recorded classes, however, and simply need to create an account.

To access them via your mobile phone or tablet download the Better UK app, available from the Apple or Google Play stores or www.better.org.uk/news/download-the-better-uk-app at  and then register an account. To do this:
