A man who crashed his car in Ashford submitted a foul-mouthed drink-driving form after he fought with officers and was later detained recently.

A screenshot of the form, in which the driver referred to himself as a 'c***', was posted by Surrey Road Policing Unit (RPU) this morning (December 18) after the incident.

It was accompanied by a statement that said the driver in question "decided to fight with police" after he was involved in a crash on Clockhouse Lane in Ashford.

The form he submitted after being detained included a space in which the detainee was asked "Are there any medical reasons or otherwise why you cannot or should not provide a specimen of breath?"

In response, he wrote: "Cause I'm a c***".

A spokesperson for Surrey RPU described the incident in further detail and thanked a member or members of the public who they said had helped bring the driver in:

"Single vehicle crash on Clockhouse Lane in Ashford.

"Driver decided to fight with Police, but was arrested.

"His attitude in custody didn't change providing a rather graphic description of himself.

"Thanks to the public who assisted in detaining him," the spokesperson said.
