A motorcyclist was seriously injured after they collided with a police car during a chase through Sunbury this morning (December 15).
Police said officers in an unmarked car initiated the pursuit after responding to reports of "suspicious behaviour".
During the chase, the motorbike collided with another police car that was stationary at the time, inflicting serious injuries on the motorcyclist.
They are now appealing for information from the public in the case.
A spokesperson for Surrey Police said:
"Shortly before 2am, Officers in an unmarked police car were in pursuit of a motorbike following reports of suspicious behaviour.
"During the pursuit, the motorbike has then been involved in a collision with a marked police car on Lower Hampton Road.
"The motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
"Officers remain at the scene and Lower Hampton Court Road and Harfield Road are partially closed.
"If you have any information or dashcam footage which could help, please contact us quoting incident number P20288659."
