An air ambulance has landed at the scene of a road accident in Maldon.

Police, fire engines and ambulances are also at the scene of the collision on Heybridge Approach.

Traffic is slow moving on the A414 Northbound between London Road and Heybridge Approach.

Police Update:

Essex Police confirmed the collision occured shortly after 1pm and both drivers were treated by paramedics. 

A spokesperson said: " We were called shortly before 1.15pm on Monday 23 November to a collision involving a Jaguar F-Type and a Hyundai i30 in Heybridge Approach, Maldon.

"Paramedics treated both drivers and enquiries remain ongoing."

Update: 

East of England Ambulance service confirmed four people were treated at the scene and one was taken to hospital following the crash. 

As spokesperson said: "Two ambulances, two Hazardous Area Response Team Vehicles and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were called to a road traffic collision on Doubleday Drive, Heybridge shortly after 1pm today (Nov 23).

"Four patients were assessed at the scene and one was transported by road ambulance to Broomfield Hospital for further assessment and care."
