Surrey Roads Policing Unit (RPU) suggested a Surrey detective is investigating after a seagull was filmed swiping a bag of crisps from Greggs bakers recently.
In a video originally posted to TikTok and re-posted by Surrey RPU, the seagull in question waddles nonchalantly into the open door of a Greggs bakers.
Looking around itself in an agitated manner, it then selects of bag of crisps from inside the bakery and walks out with it, before readjusting its grip and flying off with the prize.
Surrey RPU joked they were appealing for witnesses as they posted the video to Twitter.
Don't worry @SurreyRoadCops I'm sure we will wing it. Now keep your beak out of the detective world whilst I get our SOCO to feather down any prints 😉 https://t.co/TgdgIHuabr

"We’re appealing for witnesses in connection to this brazen daylight theft.
"@SurreyDetective is on scene."
The tweet was directed at the anonymous @SurreyDetective Twitter account named 'Life of A Detective' that sometimes posts information and updates into investigative policing.
In response, the account tweeted:
"Don't worry @SurreyRoadCops

"Now keep your beak out of the detective world whilst I get our SOCO to feather down any prints..."
