MANCHESTER City's Patrick Roberts has been linked with a return to Middlesbrough on a season-long loan.

The City play-maker joined the Riverside club back in January for the second half of last season and played seven times and scoring once.

The 23-year-old had a successful loan spell at Celtic and has also spent time at Norwich City

BOURNEMOUTH may turn to Birmingham City midfielder Gary Gardner as they look to strengthen their squad.

The former Aston Villa man could be available for as little as £1million and would boost Jason Tindall's options having lost several key players in the summer including Callum Wilson, Ryan Fraser and Nathan Ake while David Brooks continues to be linked with a move to the Premier League.

The 28-year-old has played 84 times for the Blues but has not started a single game for the Blues in the Championship under Aitor Karanka.

CHRIS Willock could be on his way to Queens Park Rangers from Benfica in a £750,000 deal.

The former Arsenal youth star, who has been with the Portuguese giants since 2017, has been highlighted by Hoops manager Mark Warburton see Willcock as an ideal replacement for Eberechi Eze who has joined Cystal Palace.

Willock, who spent time on loan at Huddersfield last season, is also being tracked by Derby County, Bournemouth and Rangers.

SCOTT Malone is keen on a permanent move to Millwall having joined the Lions on a season-long loan from Derby County.

The former Cardiff City and Fulham full back helped Millwall to an eighth place finish in the Championship last season and wants to rediscover his top form to make the move from the Midlands to London a permanent one.

The 29-year-old, who signed a three-year deal when he joined from Derby in the summer of 2018, is unlikely to have a future with the Rams after this campaign.

BEN Godfrey is on the verge of signing for Everton after the Premier League outfit agreed a £25m deal for the Norwich City star.

The 22-year-old defender, who can also play as a holding midfielder, is expected to undergo a medical at Goodison Park.
