Police have released an image of people they're hoping to speak with in the search to find those responsible for attacking two boys on Warren Rec in Epsom recently.

The latest image released by police appeared to show two bare-chested young white men with light brown hair, one sporting a tattoo on their lower arm.

As the Comet reported previously, the attack took place when two boys playing badminton on Warren Rec were assaulted and then robbed on the evening of May 27, around 8-8.15pm.

Verbal abuse was hurled at the boys before they were assaulted and one of them robbed of his headphones.

"The suspects began verbally abusing the boys before punching one of the victims in the head and running off with his headphones," the police appeal read.

Fortunately, a member of the public later intervened and managed to return the stolen headphones to their owner, but the suspects ran off.

Police are now searching for the culprits, who they said are believed to be white males in their "late teens or early 20s" in a statement.
