A 14-year-old boy has been charged with knife crime offences after three people were robbed on Cavendish Road in Weybridge recently.

The Elmbridge branch of Surrey Police, who are investigating the incident, said that the boy who could not be named for legal reasons had been charged with "two counts of robbery, one attempted robbery and possession of a bladed article".

He was arrested after reports of three people being robbed by a knife-wielding male on Cavendish Road last Thursday (July 9).

A spokesperson for Elmbridge Police announced that the boy in question had been charged on Tuesday (July 14).

In a short statement posted to facebook, they said:

"A 14 year old boy from #Weybridge has been charged with two counts of robbery, one attempted robbery and possession of a bladed article.

"Officers were called to Cavendish Road on Thursday, July 9, following reports of three people being robbed at knifepoint.

"The 14 year old will next appear in court on the 15th July 2020."
