The bins outside a woman's home in Kingston have been overflowing for days amid a surge in takeaway orders nearby.
Jane, who lives on Kingston High Street, told the Comet on Monday (June 22) that the bins outside her house had been overflowing with takeaways amid the easing of lockdown restrictions put in place during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
With several restaurants and pubs near to where she lives now open for takeaway business, and recent good weather, Jane said there had been a massive in the amount of litter now being left in the bins right outside her home.
In addition, a number of people were now using the area as an impromptu toilet, Jane said.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to confirm a further easing of lockdown measures later today (Tuesday, June 23).
Among proposals that have already been mooted are a reopening of the badly hit hospitality sector, including restaurants, pubs and hotels, and an easing of the two metre physical distancing rule.
On Monday, it was reported that the official total number of deaths in the UK from coronavirus, among those who tested positive, stood at 42,647.
