Two people were injured yesterday in a reported stabbing near Canbury in Kingston as police made arrests in relation to the violent incident.
Reports of a stabbing circulated on social media Tuesday evening after officers from the Met Police were spotted in numbers in the area.
On Wednesday (June 17), a spokesperson for the Kingston branch of the force confirmed they had responded to reports of a stabbing in on Skerne Walk in Kingston and that two people had been found injured.
"We were called at 15:44 on Tuesday, 16 June to Skerne Walk, Kingston to reports of a stabbing," a spokesperson for the borough police force posted to Twitter.
"Officers and LAS attended and found a man with minor injuries to his face and a woman with minor injuries to her hand. They did not require hospital treatment.
"Two males, aged in their mid-teens were arrested on suspicion of Assault and taken to a London police station where they remain.
"Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with this and enquiries continue into the circumstances," they added.
