A man was rushed to hospital after reportedly being stabbed on St Anne's Drive in Redhill on Saturday (May 30).

Police launched an information appeal yesterday (May 31) in connection to the assault, which took place around 7pm in the residential area.

After they responded to reports of a man being stabbed, officers arrested a 46-year-old suspect on suspicion of GBH near to where the incident took place.

He is believed to be in custody still.

Two people were injured in the assault, one more seriously who was taken to hospital and later released.

Investigating Officer DS Kerry Akehurst said that police were working on the suspision that the assault happened after an argument broke out on the road in question.

"It is believed that this assault occurred following a verbal dispute outside the Londi’s shop on St Anne’s Drive," he said.

"We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this dispute to get in contact.”
