Officers from the Met Police said they arrested three people suspected of stealing bicycles in an operation Canbury Gardens in Kingston today (May 20).

The arrests came swiftly after CCTV operators spotted the suspects "fiddling" with bikes in the area and called officers in to attend the scene.

A spokesperson for Kingston MPS described what happened next in a statement posted on social media:

"As our teams swooped into Canbury Gardens, a Police dog brought in his handler to assist. Conducting their extensive and well-orchestrated searches, three youths were detained.

"Three bikes were recovered which had just been stolen, one of which was worth over £2500.

"The team involved was Response Team C with our Dog team, ably ran by PC Luscombe...And the police dog, obviously" the statement read.
