Raynes Park High School in Wimbledon has successfully delivered over 1000 visors to critical workers across, Sutton, Kingston and Richmond.

In a bid to tackle the national PPE shortage, the school created visors to provide to the NHS.

Design and Technology teacher, Neil Robinson, used the school's equipment to manufacture visors for care institutions and local hospitals across boroughs.

The much-needed equipment was distributed to; St Helier hospital, community-based Social Workers, Hounslow & Richmond Community Podiatry department, and the Royal Hospital for Neuro-Disability.

Assistant Headteacher of Raynes Park High School, Ms Lorraine Finan, said: "Our school is open for our vulnerable students and children of our key worker parents, but we felt we could be doing more.

"We are acutely aware of the shortage of PPE so Mrs Heard asked Mr Neil Robinson if he could utilise his skills as a DT teacher.

"After surpassing our initial target, within eight days we had produced and supplied over 1000 visors for our critical workers to use and ensure care for our local people while keeping themselves safe.

"We will continue to make PPE for as long as it is needed to support our fantastic health care professionals, who are doing so much to keep our community safe and well."

"We are extremely proud to launch the Raynes Park Community Box scheme this week, to deliver food to families in need."

Merton Volunteer group, Helpful Engineering, are to help distribute the equipment to St. Georges, Kingston Hospital and Hounslow Residential Care Homes, in the coming weeks.
