A former South West London police constable who was convicted of attacking a woman has been found guilty of gross misconduct.
During a recent misconduct hearing, former PC Robert Dearing faced a number of allegations that he breached a number of standards of professional behaviour.
On March 31, 2020, a panel found that the former officer would have been dismissed if he had still been serving.
Mr Dearing, who was formerly attached to the South West Command Unit, was convicted of assault in Germany after he attacked a woman in October 2017.
Dearing left the police service on January 12, ahead of a gross misconduct hearing.
In the hearing, Mr Dearing answered allegations that his actions breached the standards of professional behaviour in respect of discreditable conduct, authority, respect and courtesy.
The panel decided that all the allegations were proven as misconduct and therefore the former officer would have been dismissed if he had still be serving.
