A woman was seriously injured and a man arrested after a severe crash in Leatherhead last night (March 12).

Police were called to the A246 (Young Street) at 10.25pm, close to the junction with the Givons Grove roundabout in Leatherhead, after what they described as a “two vehicle collision”.

“A woman who was travelling in one of the vehicles is in hospital with serious injuries,” a spokesperson for Surrey Police said.

They added that a man had been arrested on suspicion of a number of related offences including dangerous driving:

“A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle taking, driving whilst disqualified, having no insurance, failing to provide, and making off without payment.”

Police are continuing to investigate what happened and have appealed to the public for help in their inquiries.
