People have paid tribute to a Croydon man who was stabbed to death in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Tyler Roye, 24, was attacked just after midnight as he walked down Stroud Green Way.

He was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service but was pronounced dead at 2.46am.

No arrests have been made and police are appealing for anyone with CCTV footage to come forward.

Renne Brown first met Tyler more than a decade ago when they shared the same classroom at Edenham High School.

"I met Tyler Back in 2006 when we started year 7," she told the Croydon Guardian.

"We were in the same form and had a few lessons together.

"From what I can remember Tyler was a funny character.

"He would always make others laugh in school which made lessons with him so enjoyable."

But it isn't just people who knew Tyler who have felt the pain of his death.

Asimba Mbala never knew Tyler but found himself asking himself how something like this could happen,

"Only 24 years old, he had a life ahead of him," he told the Croydon Guardian.

"My prayers goes to the parents. I pray that they are strong every day and my god gives them the strength.

"If I had one wish it would be for all this killing to stop.

"We need to stick together and thing about the next generation. To me I just lost another brother."

"May you rest in peace, the heavens are now open for you."
