SEVERAL roads in Sussex are shut this morning due to flooding.

Storm Dennis brought heavy rain to the county this weekend with many roads becoming impassable.

The weather is set to improve today but heavy showers are still possible.

The following roads are shut or impassable due to flooding or fallen trees:

Due to fallen trees: Crays Lane, Thakeham; Lake Lane, Barnham; Storrington Road, Thakeham.

Roads closed due to flooding:

Jane Murray Way (near B&Q), Burgess Hill; Lowfield Heath Road, Crawley; Radford Road, Crawley; Two Mile Ash Road, Barns Green; Kerves Lane, Horsham; Horsham Northern Bypass, eastbound; Horsham Road, Broadfield; Station Road, Petworth; Shermanbury Road, Partridge Green; Lower Street, Fittleworth; Swan Bridge Corner/London Road, Pulborough; Drungewick Lane, Loxwood.

A West Sussex Highways spokesperson said; “We would like to remind road users to please adhere to ‘road closed’ warning signs and never risk driving through floodwater.

“We would also like to thank the public for their patience while the clear-up continues, and special thanks to the teams from our contractor, Balfour Beatty Living Places, for all their hard work over the two weekends.”
