A car fire closed Epsom Downs this afternoon (January 20) as fire service crews rushed to put out the blaze.
The fire was reported around 1.35pm on Monday, prompting a rapid response from Surrey Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) fire crew.
"We received a call this afternoon around 13.35pm to a report of a fire on Tattenham Crescent, Epsom.
"One fire engine was sent, which arrived at the scene around 13.40pm.
"A car had caught fire.
"The fire was successfully tackled and the units left the scene around 14.15pm," a spokesperson for SFRS said.
Photographer Steven Greenwell of Greenwell Hare Photography was walking on the Downs at the time of the fire and provided the Comet with images of the blaze and SFRS response.
