A man has been charged with the murder of a Bulgarian man  found dead at his home in Croydon last week. 

Krasimir Kartikov, 60, had suffered several injuries when he was found dead at his home on Whitehorse Road in Croydon on Monday (January 13).

Earlier today (January 18) police announced they had charged 44-year-old man Nikolay Zhivkov with Krasimir's murder. 

Zhivkov, of no fixed address, was due to appear in court today.  

A spokesperson for the Police described how they had found Krasimir at his home on Whitehorse Road in Croydon:

"Police were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) at around 08:50hrs on Monday, 13 January, to a report of a man found deceased inside a residential address on Whitehorse Road, Croydon.

"The victim was identified as Mr Kartikov.

"A post-mortem examination on 15 January gave the cause of death as multiple injuries.

"His next-of-kin have been informed."

Police revealed that Zhivkov is also a Bulgarian national. 

He was arrested on Thursday (January 16) and taken to a west London police station prior to being charged.

Police are continuing to call on the public to help them with the case.
