Two men have both been jailed for two years and nine months each after cocaine was located during a vehicle stop in Esher in October.

Both men subsequently admitted possession with intent to supply cocaine at court following the vehicle stop check and search that led to their arrest and charge on Esher High Street on Wednesday, October 30.

27-year-old Albano Memaj and 23-year-old Eligon Qafa, both of no fixed address were jailed at Guildford Crown Court on Monday, December 16.

Surrey Police Borough Commander, Inspector Bert Dean said: “This court result shows just how effective our proactive stop searches can be. I’m pleased that both men who admitted possession with intent to supply cocaine are off the streets for the time being.

“I’d urge anyone with concerns about drug dealing to contact us. Information provided by members of the public is extremely valuable and can help us to make our communities safer.”
