A man has been rushed to hospital with a stab injury after a fight broke out on Epsom Road following a car crash.

The road rage incident has led to Merton Police issuing a Section 60 stop and search order across the borough.

The fight broke out at around 7:25pm last night (December 7) on Epsom Road in Morden after two cars collided in the street.

Policed were called to investigate the fight, and a man in his 20s was taken to hospital with a stab injury.

Merton Police said the injury was not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing, and appealed to anyone with information to come forward.

A spokesperson said: "Anyone who witnessed the collision and fight in Epsom Rd near the junction with Lower #Morden Lane should call police on 101, quoting ref 6639/07dec.

"There has been no arrest at this stage.

"Young people with info about violent and knife crime pls visit http://fearless.org."

A S60 stop and search public order was put in place in Merton and Sutton by police from 8pm yesterday in response to the fight in Morden.

The order, running until 11am today, is in place across Lower Morden, St Helier, Ravensbury and Stonecot.
