Sutton and Cheam is one of two parliamentary constituencies in Sutton.
Between 1997 and 2015 it was represented by the Liberal Democrats.
The constituency has been represented by Conservative Paul Scully since 2015.
In the 2017 general election he won with 26,567 votes to the 13,869 gained by the Liberal Democracy candidate in second place.
Sutton, which has a Lib Dem council, was one of five London boroughs to vote in favour of Brexit.
In the Sutton and Cheam constituency 51.28 per cent voted to leave the EU in the 2016 referendum.
Hina Bokhari – Liberal Democrats
Hina is a councillor in neighbouring Merton, representing the West Barnes ward.
She has been a teacher for 20 years and taught at Sutton schools including Manor Park, Green Wrythe Primary and The Avenue.
She said after seeing children left behind in the system she founded am educational charity.
Important issues for her are fair funding in schools, police services and the NHS.
Bonnie Craven – Labour
Bonnie is a trade union officer and has lived in the area since 1980.
She said: “I am a local resident, a mum, a campaigner, a trade union officer and an ex-teacher.
“I care about education, our NHS, housing and protecting our planet.”
Claire Jackson-Prior – Green Party
Claire has lived in the constituency since 2002.
She said she backs the Keep Our St Helier Hospital campaign – especially as her two children were born there and was treated at the hospital for a heart attack in 2008.
She said: “Our country has a huge problem of economic injustice and we need new thinking to address this. The Green Party’s policies are the way forward for a more just society in the UK.”
Paul Scully – Conservative
Paul has lived in Sutton for 28 years and is standing for re-election.
He is a governor at Sutton College and was first elected in 2015, taking the seat from the Liberal Democrats.
He said: “I understand the local issues that concern you because I shop in the same shops and drive on the same roads.
“I remain determined to provide the people of Sutton with a strong voice in Westminster.”
