Epsom's very own Vintage Pawnbrokers has scooped a national prize after being recognised for its efforts to give back to the community.

JF Daughters Vintage Pawnbrokers in High Street were announced as the joint winner of the National Pawnbrokers Association Community Contribution Award at a prestigious ceremony in central London.

Over the last ten years, Vintage Pawnbrokers have raised over £80,000 for local charities including Shooting Stars Hospice and Woodlands School and their team work hard to not only raise much needed funds, but also raise awareness.

John Freeze, the owner of Vintage Pawnbrokers was thrilled at receiving the award, commenting: “We feel it is as important to give back to the local community as it is to be part of it. Our business is built on local people and what is an issue for them should be an issue for us.”

The National Pawnbrokers Association holds their annual awards to showcase the best pawnbrokers in the industry.

Entrants include both national and international companies.

Ray Perry, CEO of NPA said, “The Awards this year have demonstrated the professionalism and excellence in all categories from involvement in the community through to training and developing staff”.

This is Vintage Pawnbrokers first shortlisting for an award and the team hope that it is the first of many nationally and internationally recognised trophies.
