A teenage boy has been charged with murder after a 20-year-old was stabbed to death in Bexley.

Police were called at 2.48pm on Sunday afternoon (October 13) to Barnehurst Avenue, Bexley, after reports of a fight in the street.

On arrival, Ben Lines, from Belvedere, was found with a stab injury to his chest and rushed to hospital, where he was declared dead less than three hours later.

The 16-year-old has been charged with murder and causing actual bodily harm.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Bromley Youth court on Wednesday, October 16.

Another 16-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been released with no further action.

A 17-year-old boy, who was arrested on Monday at an address in Dartford on suspicion of murder, has been released on bail until a date later this month.

A post-mortem examination took place at the Princess Royal Hospital today and gave the cause of death as a stab wound to the abdomen.
