Transform Leatherhead (TL) encouraged residents to air their views on future developments planned for the town after recent success at an engagement event.

The far-reaching project was established as a partnership involving Surrey County Council (SCC), Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) and Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership (C2C LEP) as a means to redevelop Leatherhead.

Leatherhead High Street, the town's Riverside Walk, plus sites at the Swan Centre, Bull Hill Park and Claire House and James House have all been earmarked for redevelopment.

Earlier this month, TL organisers held the first in a series of "autumn public engagement events" called TL in Conversation.

They welcomed residents from the community to see the current plans and proposals, and air their thoughts and questions about the project.

Councillor Bridget Kendrick, MVDC Cabinet Member for Projects, said: "Thank you to everyone who turned out for our first two events, the team were busy throughout with a whole range of enquiries.

"There are two more live events to go: at the Fairfield Centre 14 October 12-2pm and at All Saints Café 17 October 9am – 12pm.

"The team would be delighted to be joined by those who live, work and run their businesses here.

"The topics covered include the latest progress on our key redevelopment projects at Claire House and James House and the Swan Centre and the next steps for our High Street and transport plans."

In November TL are hosting a 'virtual Q&A' with Councillor Bridget Kendrick, Cabinet Member for Projects, and the TL project team.

"Featuring questions asked throughout our live events and any questions sent in to the team in advance, the virtual Q&A can be watched online at www.transformleatherhead.com from November 28th," a spokesperson said.
