Students at a Welling school were sent home this morning due to a failure with the water supply.

Harris Falconwood announced the closure at 9am, calling for parents to collect their children.

The mixed-gender secondary school said further information will be released later today.

A spokesperson said: "Due to unforeseen circumstances regarding a failure in the water supply, the Academy will be closed today for health and safety reasons.

"Students will be sent home once parental permission has been obtained."
