To be, or not to be (hungover)? That is the question.

At least it will be for one of the cast members from Bound and Gagged Comedy, who are bringing their wildly popular stage project — Shit-faced Shakespeare — to the Epsom Playhouse on October 1.

The multi-award winning project sees actors perform renditions of Shakespeare with a frequently hilarious twist.

Before curtain, one randomly selected cast member is given four hours to drink ahead of each show.

"We present to you classical theatre as it was always meant to be seen: with a gin in one hand, a cup of wine in the other and a flagon of ale at the ready.

"What could possibly go wrong?" A tongue-in-cheek statement promoting the show said.

The October 1 performance will mark the first night of a UK-spanning tour for the Shit-faced Shakespeare project, which launched in 2010.

Since then, it has enjoyed "multiple sell-out runs" at the Edinburgh and Brighton Fringe festivals, and welcomed over 350,000 attendees in the UK, US and Australia to enjoy in the revelries

For this tour, Shakespeare's magical comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream was chosen.

"This is your chance to see a truly unique adaption of a play Samuel Pepys called 'the most insipid ridiculous play that I ever saw in my life' – things are bound to get more ridiculous once the cast crack open the wine," a spokesperson said.
