A 40-year-old man arrested following a fatal stabbing in Grove Park has been released under investigation.

Two other men, aged 51 and 46, remain in custody for questioning. All three were arrested on suspicion of murder.

Police were called to a chicken shop on Downham Way on Friday night.

Two men - including the 51-year-old - were found with head and stab wounds following a fight.

The other man, 34, was taken to hospital where he died on Saturday morning.

Officers said the victim's next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem examination is due to take place on Sunday at Greenwich Mortuary.

The death is the 103rd homicide in London so far this year.

A Met Police spokesman said: "Police were called at around 11.55pm on Friday September 13 to a fight in a chicken shop in Downham Way, Grove Park.

"Officers attended and found two men suffering stab and head injuries."

Police said inquiries into the full circumstances around the incident continue.

Detectives from specialist crime command have been informed and will be investigating working closely with police in Lewisham, Met Police said.
