A cyclist was assaulted in West Molesey on Sunday, prompting a police investigation into a suspected road rage incident.

The assault happened Sunday morning (September 1) at around 10.30am.

The victim was cycling along Hurst Road in West Molesey, close to Hurst Park School when she was approached by the suspect and pushed into the road.

Luckily, the victim wasn’t injured but the assault led to a verbal altercation during which she was further threatened, police described.

The primary suspect has been described as a white male in his 50s or 60s, "around 5ft 9 tall, wearing a short-sleeved white shirt with red chequered pattern and dark trousers," police said.

They urged any potential witnesses who may have been in the area on Sunday morning to come forward.

Investigators are also looking for anyone with dashcam footage that could help with the investigation.
