Bexley police have responded to at least nine burglaries and attempted burglaries across the borough in the past week alone.

According to officers' reports in the latest Bexley Borough Neighbourhood Watch Update, a number of wards were targeted by burglars.

Unfortunately some of these attempts were successful, with some homeowners having cash and other valuables taken, including a Louis Vuitton handbag and an air rifle.

As burglaries continue across the borough, we have pinpointed the roads which were targeted in the last fortnight.

August 21 – Iris Avenue, Bexleyheath: A home was burgled after thieves entered the property, overnight, through the side extension.

August 21 – Martens Avenue, Bexleyheath: An attempted burglary in which suspects tried to gain entry through the rear door of the property at around 2am.

August 23 – Blackfen Road, Sidcup: Suspects broke into the George Staples pub sometime after 4am. The occupant was awoken by voices and when the occupant shouted out at the unknown suspects, they fled.

August 25 – Elder Close, Sidcup: Home owner arrived home and saw their garden door was open and the garage door open. Nothing stolen.

August 21 – Steynton Avenue, Bexley: Unknown suspect broke into Louise Lambell Hair Design overnight and made off with the till.

August 25 – Sherwood Park Avenue, Sidcup: Henry Hoover and drills stolen from non-residential property after smashing their way through a wooden door.

August 26 – London Road, Crayford: Residential burglary in which a Louis Vuitton handbag, an annual train pass, photography equipment, an air rifle and sentimental jewellery belonging to the victim’s elderly mother was taken.

August 24 – Denberry Drive, Sidcup: Victims came from holiday and discovered their red Toyota Aygo courtesy car missing from the drive. When they entered the property they found kitchen drawers/cupboards open as well as the utility room door and a wardrobe in one of the bedrooms open.

August 26 – Riverside Road, Sidcup: Two suspects jumped over a fence and used a wheelie bin to gain access to a side bedroom window. An untidy search took place and victims have reported a game console and some jewellery missing.
