A teenage girl was raped in toilets on Hollyhedge road in Cobham last Thursday (August 22).

Surrey Police said they have launched a investigation into the horrific incident and urged any witnesses who might be able to help with their inquiries to come forward.

The rape occurred between 5 and 5.30pm on August 22, in the toilets to the rear of the British Legion in Hollyhedge road, Cobham.

It was reported to police on Saturday (August 24).

A spokesperson for Surrey Police told the Comet that later on Saturday officers established a cordon that was in place between 10pm (August 24) and 4.30pm (August 25) so that a forensic investigation of the toilet block could take place.

"Officers believe the suspect has travelled to the area by car, and are carrying out a number of lines of enquiry, including reviewing CCTV footage from the Holly Hedge Road car park opposite, to identify the vehicle used," Surrey Police said.

"We are appealing for anyone who has video footage (dash cam, helmet cam or CCTV) or took photographs within the car park or nearby surrounding area between 4.30pm and 6.pm on Thursday 22 August to come forward, as it is possible your image may have captured information that could be vital to the investigation," the spokesperson for the county police force added.
