Surrey police arrested two 16-year-olds who remain in custody after a teenager was stabbed in Addlestone Tuesday night (August 20).

Police also renewed their information appeal yesterday (August 21), saying they believe there is footage of the incident not yet seen by the investigation that might help them piece together what happened.

"Two 16 year old boys were arrested in connection with the investigation and are currently in custody," police said.

A spokesperson added that the incident — which sent a teenager to hospital with a cut that required stitches — "could have been much worse."

On Tuesday evening, police received reports of a fight between two groups of teenagers, with one individual receiving a knife wound.

Officers immediately flooded the area around Kingsthorpe Gardens in response.

One teenager was taken to hospital where he received three stitches to a cut before being discharged at around 1am.

Issuing an updated information appeal, Detective Sergeant Mark Fordham, who is investigating the incident, made a direct appeal to anyone who might have information to come forward.

"We are actively looking to speak to everyone who was involved in the incident last night, as we try to piece together the circumstances that led to this injury.

"It goes without saying that this could have been far worse, and we are following every lead in our search for those responsible."

DS Fordham added that police believed there was still footage in the community not yet shared with police that could prove vital to their investigation.

"Bearing in mind the ages of those involved, I believe it is likely there is further video evidence from mobile phones that has yet to be shared with us.

"It is very possible that this is being shared between young people and I'd ask parents to have a frank conversation with their children to ask if they were there, or if they have been sent videos from the night's events," he said.

The Surrey detective also offered thanks to the Addlestone community for their help with the investigation so far.

"I want to thank the community of Addlestone who have been very forthcoming with evidence and information so far, and I'd urge anyone who has information that could help the investigation to speak to us, or (anonymously) to Crimestoppers.

"I would ask everyone in Addlestone who has a video doorbell, CCTV or a dashcam to check their footage between 19:00 and 20:30 (Tuesday) night. I am keen to see any footage that shows groups of teenagers coming and going at those times."
