Surrey Police are on the hunt for an attacker after a teenager was stabbed in Addleston.

Officers were called at 8.30pm on August 20 to Burleigh Road following reports that a teenager had been knifed earlier in the evening.

"We have located the victim, who was taken to hospital and received stitches for a cut before being sent home," a spokeswoman for the police said.

"Initial reports suggested there was a second victim, however we are now confident that this is not the case.

"We want to make it very clear that we believe this to be a contained incident and we do not believe there is any risk to the wider public."

Officers are currently at the scene carrying out forensic investigations and house to house enquiries.

"We are actively seeking the individual or individuals responsible," the spokeswoman added.

"Anyone with information that could help us locate the person or persons responsible - including mobile phone footage, dashcam or helmet-cam footage - should contact us urgently quoting reference P19191392."

Police advised that the cordon was still in place on Wednesday morning and that residents will "likely see more police activity" as they continue to search for evidence.
