Thames Water has thanked residents in Bromley for their patience after a burst water pipe caused havoc in the past 48 hours.

The burst pipe was located on Masons Hill beside two high voltage cables and a gas main.

The A21 Bromley Common was shut both ways earlier while a solution was sought.

However, a Thames Water spokesman has now told New Shopper: "The water supply has now been restored to all properties following a burst to a 12-inch diameter water pipe.

"We’d like to thank our customers for their patience while we carried out this very complicated repair and apologise for any inconvenience."

News Shopper understands Virgin Active Bromley remains closed after losing its water supply earlier.
